This guide is the first and only comprehensive document dealing with the practical issues of making prison visiting a better experience for children and families. As well as addressing needs and rights, it also sets standards for the visiting experience and provides researched examples of helpful policies, service level agreements and signposts to further support for the partnerships required to address this complex issue.
  • Teenagers with a Family Member in Prison (2001) This study illustrates the extent of the needs of teenagers affected by the imprisonment of a family member. It looks at their experience from the arrest of the family member through to visiting and maintaining contacts and issues around release. Recommendations are made for the Scottish Prisons Service and other agencies.
